Prodcuct Introduction

Pulse lavage is used to clean and irrigate wounds. This technique efficiently removes debris, bacteria, and foreign materials from wounds or surgical sites by using a high-pressure, pulsatile fluid flow. The mechanical scrubbing motion facilitates debridement and creates a more hygienic environment for the best possible tissue repair. Pulse lavage is widely utilized in wound care, trauma surgery, orthopedics, and other medical specialties. It provides benefits like decreased risk of infection, enhanced visibility during treatments, and adaptability to diverse clinical environments. Pulse lavage is a useful technique in supporting efficient wound care because of its ease of use and capacity to deliver steady, regulated irrigation.

Contraindications

Exposed Blood Vessels or Nerves: Pulse lavage should be used with caution or avoided if there are exposed blood vessels or nerves in the wound. The high-pressure irrigation may cause damage to these structures.

Visceral Organs or Body Cavities: Avoid using pulse lavage in wounds that communicate with internal organs or body cavities, as it can introduce fluid into these spaces, potentially causing complications.

Joint Spaces: In orthopedic procedures, pulse lavage may not be suitable for wounds that communicate with joint spaces. Introducing fluid into the joint can lead to complications such as infection or inflammation.

Electrical Burns: For wounds resulting from electrical burns, pulse lavage may not be recommended due to the risk of driving electrical current deeper into tissues.

Presence of Foreign Bodies: If there are large or delicate foreign bodies in the wound, the forceful pulsatile flow of the lavage may cause displacement or damage.
