Silicone Gastrostomy Catheter

The Silicone Gastrostomy Catheter allow for delivery of enteral nutrition and medication directly into the stomach and/or gastric decompression. It is intended used for oral feeding difficulties, but gastrointestinal function is normal, the need for long-term nutritional support, including Neurotic coma, anorexia, Alzheimer’s disease. Mainly suitable for Gastrostomy patients. Puncture the stomach cavity by a trocar through the abdominal wall with the endoscope, then put the guide wire in, which is inserted to guide the gastrostomy tube to enter the stomach cavity through the mouth and esophagus, thus forming the gastrostomy.

TheSilicone Gastrostomy Catheter are indicated for use in patients who require long term feeding, are unable to tolerate oral feeding, who are at low risk for aspiration, require gastric decompression and/ or medication delivery directly into the stomach.

Including but are not limited to ascites, colonic interposition, portal hypertension, peritonitis and morbid obesity.

Silicone Gastrostomy Catheter have replaced other surgical and radiological gastrostomy techniques as the method of choice for long-term feeding of patients who are unable to maintain adequate nutrition in the presence of normal gastrointestinal functioning since Ponsky and Gauderer first described this technique. When the administration period is anticipated to last longer than four weeks and the life expectancy of the patients exceeds two months, PEG use is recognized as a minimally invasive procedure that does not require general anesthesia and requires less instrumentation. As a result, it is a valuable source of nutrition by enteral feeding in nursing homes and domiciliary environments.
