The Multi-band ligator set is used to endoscopically ligate esophageal varices at or above the gastroesophageal junction or to ligate internal hemorrhoids. The device includes multi-Band Ligator handle, Loading catheter, Irrigation adapter, Barrel with preloaded bands and attached trigger cord. This device is intended for single use and is supplied non-sterile.

Remove the multi-band ligator


1. Take the endoscope out of the patient after the ligation procedure is finished.
2. Take the gadget apart as follows:
* After every band has fired, take the handle off of the accessory channel and disconnect the trigger wire. Take off the endoscope's barrel.
* If any two-way fire went unfired: Take the trigger cord off of the spool and take the handle off of the accessory channel cap. Take the trigger cable out of the handle hole. Pull the trigger cord out of the endoscope tip and through the channel after removing the barrel.
After the process is finished, dispose of the device in accordance with the hospital's biohazardous medical waste policies.

 

Potential complications


Perforation, bleeding, aspiration, fever, infection, medication allergy reaction, hypotension, respiratory depression or arrest, and cardiac arrhythmia or arrest are among the risks connected to gastrointestinal endoscopy.
The following are possible side effects of esophageal banding: retrosternal discomfort, nausea, laryngeal laceration, esophageal perforation, formation of strictures, and blockage.
